Agree with manti (ty, beast :) ).
I was very far off, in my first tries. Then I did it again, later, when I was already half asleep and that is when I got the 289. So, lesson learned: go to the harder staff, half asleep, so you are unable to overthink! ;) (only half joking). :)
The level sure gives many opportunities and I'm not sure if my 289 is the best, but can't see faster, atm. The solution surprised me, while still moving I thought it would be much longer.
EDIT, 11th Sept., 2023: woooo, I finally managed to get meow's 287. It seems quite logical, now. :))
Tried for a bit to find some more. The ending had a lot of different structures/builds. Most things seem to come out the same however.
Ah this resolved my feeling that the late game was messy. Good find Meow!
