1 year later than above: I finally cut the 2 steps. In my case, it was "just" a matter of ordering. I thought I had tried all combos, but no, there was still one alternative to be tried, and that was the one.
Honestly, the winning alternative is counter intuitive to me. I didn't try it because I thought it would be longer... :D
Wow! Came 2 close in the first 12 tries, but made no progress in the next 12. Will be back ! Edit: Finally, in 188th try, I got rid of the 2 ! :) Not completely sure, how it saved 2 moves, though.
Returning to this level again, finally got the 2-off by trying different orders of dealing with the restricted blocks after spending some time. Good pipelining and well-concealed way of solving the level.
56 attempts .... 2 moves short lol .... EDIT: Hmmm quite a few routes that are 2 off .... EDIT2: 113 attempts - so many routes 2 short AAARRGGHH ..... EDIT: and after 237 attempts YIPPEE !!!!! Just played it again to see where I was going wrong - that 2-step saving move sure is sneaky ....
Great level, Definitely worth more than one point. The 2 move off trick is the greatest! This should be in the game. I believe it's optimized but can't say for sure.
