Making a cool looking visual pattern does not guarantee a level has value to experience. First, you need to playtest it and confirm that there's multiple ways to do it wrong and only one way to do it right.
Was hard stuck on this the first time I ever played Pathology. Finally came back today and thought about what I could have been failing to do. I feel smarter now.
