Very good level ! And a good idea about design, too ! :)))) My fist time here took over 40 tries and I was 4 off. Today, a few more tries and solved it. 50 tries, all together.

Actually I tried very hard to optimize this one before to make sure my intended solution work. But considering the stepcount, probably it is not the case now, will check out what happened later. Edit2: I have a fixed version in my unpublished indeed...
