Interestingly, I went from 10 off to beating it. I guess one of the perks of missing such a big shortcut (really nicely disguised, btw) is that you rerun the path so many times that you optimize it fully when looking for the big save that you just take care of the small 2 offs that would have gave you trouble later on.
23 tries. The lock order in that area is especially remniscient of Banditcom. Fun level.
14 years later...felt much easier this time around, the hardest-to-see cuts sometimes are the simplest things
Agree with David, I couldn't find out the 2-cut and can't understand what other order I can try. After taking a rest, I was able to see what order I haven't tried.
There is a part in which there are 2 slightly different ways to do, which initially confused me.
Like Alazeh, had a hard time to go from 4 off down to 2 off, but after that, I found the last 2 cut rapidly as it was only a matter of doing things in the right order. Did enjoy that one a lot.
Gosh, was 4 off, for ages & losing the spirit. Yet somehow got to 2 off. The comments tell me I might B in real trouble, now. :D Edit1: Hehehheh, 1 more try & I've solved it. It was so easy 4 me 2 find the last 2 steps, but sooo difficult to get from 4 off to 2 off. GREAT level! 127 tries. :)
Taking a break sure does help. After yesterday, I had tried it 42 times and was 2 off. Today, I came back to it and spotted the nice 2-cut immediately! 43 tries.
I saw the two-move cut I was missing right after I found the 311 record. :-) Niels, this one may be your best one yet.
I'm 95% sure it's optimal. For the record, 27 attempts.
