Got it! For me the trick was to take a 2 years break from it. I came back to it today and got it on 2nd try. :D

Wow, this path is incredibly finicky. I had a path that was 2-off for a while, and ||**********************************************************************|| But the optimizations needed to actually get there are really minor and detailed, and were quite hard to find. Cool level.
