Nice one - noticed there might be some trick in the beginning, so I was sure to optimize that before continuing. Good optimizations on this level.

Lots of ways to do each part makes it really tricky to know where one is losing the moves

Very clever! I loved the way that the imbalance of holes between the two sides focuses you on the crux of the problem.
