I really enjoyed solving this level. I went from 115 straight to winning. I was pretty rapid at it, but it's always like that when a level seems "logical" to me, what was the case here. Fun!
I was surprisingly rapid at this one. I found a big part of the route quite forced, so I was able to focus on the rest only. A first big cut saved me 10 steps at once and I was then 2 off. The 2 steps cut in my case was just a matter of ordering at a certain location. Nice one.
I had solved it 16 years ago after a long - very long - work. One bad thing: I couldn't remember the route. One good thing: I seem to recall, vaguely, one key point to solve it. First, I was rapidly back 2 off on an optimized route. Then I was back 2 off on a different - also optimized - route. That's how I understood that what I seem to recall must be true, so I started working on an entirely different 3rd route, according to my nebulous souvenir. At first I was far away, until I notice a different way to go at a certain location that suddenly brought me 6 off. From there, it was optimization work until I got it.
Soooooo happy!

This level is so incredibly good with all the different difficult routes leading 2 off, and additional difficulty to determine what one is the one... That's 6 stars for me.

Incredible! This one is the very first one when I did not encounter a 2 off situation!!!!
1 year ago:
Can't rebeat it, stuck 4 off.
Today:
Rebeaten! Again no 2 off (4 off to winning), Yeah! Like for many boards I have on hold since years, route was correct and the 4 steps cut was simply a different way to pick up a block at a certain location... If you would know how many different routes I tried that were of course not working, since my route was correct... What for a time loss LOL
I was stuck at 392 for ages. I was a long time unsure what to optimize: my way to bring blocks up to holes, or my way to build up the required "first step" configuration? Maybe both?
Yesterday, to eliminate that doubt, I did a testing work on how I bring blocks to holes and understood there is nothing I can optimize there.
So I started to try to think differently my way to organize blocks at start. Today, I suddenly cut 2 steps... It was the confirmation I needed to invest further efforts on that and 10 minutes later: I won!
I would like to say an enormous thank you to Alazeh, who was able to help me clarifying my ideas, that without to spoil it for me. <3
