I can't believe that I achieved this one within less than 15 tries, knowing what I was doing and understanding my 2 steps saver... Could it be that I start being able to rely on my pipelining experience? LOL
I struggle massively on this one. Seems I don't have the right idea as I can't get closer than 149 for now.
I'm not sure if I'm looking for a massive cut bringing me at least 10 steps closer, or if I'm in a case of eating 2 steps by 2 steps.
Very challenging.
** few hours later, back to it...**
... and down to 143... :D
I struggle to start at that types of levels, lacking the motivation. I tried once , landed 2 off, saw the comments... Bye for now LOL
** 1 year later **
Came back to it today and got it. I found the solution just by trying different things, up to testing counter intuitive routes: one of them worked. It fooled me a long time. For me, a case of "seems longer, is shorter".
Half a star removed because I believe a resizing of the board would be nice.
I was lucky to be rapid at this one, straight 4 off and a few tries later 2 off. Then, I struggled for a while until I understood that I can't save anything anymore on the left side and at the top right section, so I focused on trying to start differently... and that's where my 2 steps saver was hidden! LOL
Side note: the left side allows for two slightly different solutions. :D
After a long time away from that board, I came back to it now and got it within a few tries. The star less is because a big part of the board is for nothing. A resizing combined with a true visual symmetry would be nice.
It's the second time these days that a board I solved needs to intricate the blocks a lot to get the 2 steps saver.
Usually, when I try to intricate like that, I lose steps because I "overcomplicate" things. Here, overcomplicating is the trick LOL
Had to take a break to refresh my mind as I was stuck 2 off for quite a while.
Today, I came back to it and solved it rapidly. I did study a bit and realized that there is only one specific action that could allow to save steps. So I focused on that action specifically while trying not to change too much of my 2 off route and eventually it worked. Happy me!
